Leavitt Family Trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Our awesome parents flew each of out to Puerto Vallarta for the most amazing family trip ever. We had a blast everyday.
We stayed at a beautiful resort, right off the beach. It was perfect! This was the view from our porch. We got to sleep in the most comfy beds and had exceptional room service, where the maids would come in at night and pull back the sheets and leave chocolate for us. The service in Mexico was exceptional, I think it was because they work for the tips and their lives are very poor outside of the resort in which they work.

The resort that we stayed at offered evening entertainment. It was fun listening to the upbeat mexican music. The colors everywere are bright and vibrant. It was fun to be surrounded by a totally different culture.

We also went to the church there. It was crazy seeing it all fenced off, only about 20 memebers and just how strong they had to be, because there were hardly any members there. These kind of branches make us Utahans really contemplate the reality of the world and how much missionary work really needs to be done.

The weather in Mexico was so hot and humid that we swam and played many games of vollyball in the pool everyday. Talk about competative games....they were fun. It has sure changed, now that we have so many fun bother in-laws that are out to win. We have been so blessed to have such great in-laws. They are all so great and we all get along so well. I love how the boys can all go do their thing and us, sisters can enjoy eachother together. I have such amazing sister, they each are so different, yet I have the best time with them and I consider them my best friends.

We spent a few of our days on the beach. The water was not the cleanest or clearest, yet it was the warmest and had the biggest waves. Josh and I love the beach, it is one of our favorites.

This is probebly our last trip were we are a couple, without a child. So we enjoyed it to the max, yet we are still eager to have our little stud, James, to come and join us in the fun.

Along the side of the beaches were sculptures that were handmade. They were very impressive. These were my favorite, they are so detailed.

We all stuck together in certain areas, protecting our money and cameras. We took the 55 passo (55 cent) bus to most of our destinations, they let us really experience the true way of life for all the people there. The drivers there are crazy, impatient and dangerous.

We also spent some afternoons at the Mexican markets, barganing on the best prices. That was Mike's favorite thing to do, he considered himself skilled. Seeing all those people in their shops tring to sell their items, made me very gratful to live in America, were there is lots of opportunity and money. As I saw children and mothers beg for money, it really got to me. As Josh and I gave money and food to these people, it was touching to see how such a small deed brought smiles to their faces. I wish we could have done more, it breaks my heart to see people struggle and beg for the things we take for granted everyday.
We enjoyed the great Mexican grub restarants, right on the beach. Drinking our Pina Coloda's, eating our salsa and chips and basking in the sun with the whole family was delightful.

Your belly is adorable, maybe it will stick out more one day :) By the way, you have to most gorgeous family. I'm sure I've said that before, but it's true!
