Momma's little doll

I have been having way to much fun dressing Rachel up. She is my little doll. I seriously love each morning and deciding what to dress her in. She just makes everything look so cute. I have been creating my own clothes for her, with no patterns, but just ideas of what I want to put on her. It is so fun creating and seeing how they turn out. Here are just a few of the dresses, skirts, onesies, blankets, burp cloths and flowers I have made for my sweet little dolly.

Here are some of the blankets I have made, you've probably already seen them in other pictures. As you can see I love the animal prints with pinks.

I made these leg and arm warmers too, just cause it's a little chilly out now days. I had a lot of fun making these, and they look so adorable and prissy on her.And just so James didn't feel too left out, I made him a shaggy tie. He's a little stud like always, and he even kept it on for all of church.Crafting and creating has become one of my favorite hobbies, it totally gives me satisfaction, enjoyment and adds on to my artsy personality. I love sewing and I have learned most of it on my own, through mistakes and blog tutorials. So if you see me crafting for the next few weeks, it's because I am getting ready for a craft show in Canada.

Baby Seat Canapy's

I made these cute baby seat canopy's for one of my cousins and a friend. If anyone is interested in buying one, let me know and I can match up cute colors that you would love, or that you choose.

Temple

We had a class with a bunch of girls on how to make these large pictures. We made the frames from base boards and than had posters of the temple that we textured. They are completely beautiful. My camera didn't do justice for what they really look like. What I loved most was the price too. Now we finally have a picture of the temple hanging in our house.

Halloween Tree

This Halloween tree was a lot of fun to make. My friend had made one , so I had to make one to of course. I just found a branch on the side of the road, spray painted it, then found a bunch of Halloween decorations and went crazy with them. These little cats used to be gold, so I just jazzed them up with black spray paint. I love Halloween, especially the dressing up and decorating.

My dear daddy and grandpa

As a late birthday present I made this for my dad. My dad is an amazing father, grandpa, husband, friend, boss, priesthood holder and man. He is an inspiration to everyone that meets him. I am a lucky girl to have him as my own daddy. I hand stitched this and just added the cute heart. This is James' only grandpa that is alive right now, so they are buds.

Love you dad and thanks for everything you have done and taught us.

Cute onesie

I made this from a cool adult sized t-shirt. My friend was so awesome to walk me through the procedure. I cut the bottom of the shirt to make these cute little sleeves.

I love it because it is original and you've never seen anything like it before. I am working on another one, that is kind of army style. I'll post it later.

Wrist key holder

Now that I am involved in a weekly craft night with some of my new friends from our new ward, it is so nice getting projects done and hanging out with the girls. Usually I get James to bed first and than head over around 7:30 or 8:00 and stay pretty late. I have had some blonde moments, just because when it's 1:30 in the morning and I woke that morning at 6:30, my body may be there, but not my mind. These wrist key holders are so nice to have. Usually when I am going places I have my hands full and it is nice just to have them on your wrist, unlock the door and than drop them and still have them with you. Plus, they are cute. Josh doesn't seem to love holding the keys and supporting the zebra print too much, he is fast to place them in his pockets. Oh well. I will tell you, I think this may help me with the problem that Josh and I have quite often- loosing our keys. It's bigger,convenient and quite noticable.

Stroller Cover

Since I loved the baby seat cover so much, I thought of a way to make one for my stroller. Whenever I go walking or running during the day the weather is so hot and sunny. Thus, James is effected and seems to get to much sun. So I made a fun, summer print cover for the stroller. It is awesome. I can place it down, when it's hot, or I can raise a side or roll it up if I don't need it. And to make it even more convenient I made it out of outside upholstery, so it's waterproof.

Tag blanky

Ever since James was born he has loved textures. He loves soft things. His favorite thing to sleep with is his silky blanket. Well since summer days are really hot and it is sometimes rough taking his blanket everywhere I made this super cute little hand tag blanky. It is perfect size for him and when he was a bit younger the stimulation of the ribbons kept his busy for hours. Even now when he is drinking his bottle he will just play with the little tags . This was so easy and fun to make, any baby would love one.

Baby Bibs

I love these bibs. I have made a few for James and as gifts and I think they are just cute and stylish. I mean what more do you need but a stylish little bib to cover your cutie pie. I will admit that I am always laughing at James, because eating is such a messy process for him. But when we are all through, I just think, thank goodness for these bibs that cover his whole front area down to his waste. Perfect!

Cozy Blanket

This is just a cute little blanky that I made when I was in my crazy create mode. Oh course it's not for James, but it is so soft, I just love baby blankets. I have always wondered why they don't make big people blankets that are made out of the same comfy cozy material. Maybe one day I will make Josh and I a king sized (as soft as a baby) blanket....... someday......

Matching Beanies aka Toques

This was one of the easiest things to make, and how fun is it that they both match. All I did was take an old sweater, that I don't use any more, and cut it out into a half oval. I used the bottom of the sweater as the rim of the beanie. I just estimated how big our heads were and adjusted it accordingly. Now that I know how easy they are to make , I really want to find a really cute old sweater and make some more. Note: I never knew what Americans called these beanies until I went to a store asking them were their toques (Canadian term) were. I felt kind of silly, using the best description that I could, while learning a new American term.

Stitching

I love the B attitudes by President Gordon B. Hinckley, thus I stitched this for my little sister who has always been so giving and willing to take amazing pictures for us.

For my mom's birthday, I stitched the following. Mom has always made us feel loved and have always been a great example to us. The love of God has always been and will always be at home, thanks to my mother. Love you mom and Happy Belated Birthday!

My friend, Stacey has been so great. She has recently introduced me to a new craft that I really enjoy- Stitching. She is my inspiration, because her plethora of finished projects are amazing. Her house is so cutely decorated according to each holiday and season. I can't wait to do more. I will admit that it does require plenty of hours and patience. The first two that I did, I pretty much started on my way to Canada and completed them before I left. Thanks Stacey for teaching me and I can't wait until we get together to do more.

Baby seat drape

I love this baby seat cover. It has been a lifesaver for James. These seat covers are so convenient for when you are on the go. He falls asleep on a drive and all I have to do is cover him and he is not disturbed. It also blocks the harsh sun from reaching my white fare skinned cutie. Plus, it's cute and easy to use. I am all about modernizing what you already use. I couldn't find a pattern anywhere so my sister , Stacy, and I looked at one at a baby boutique and figured it out together. They are so easy to use, as you can drape it back when you don't need it too.

Personal Oil Painting- Hawaii

Almost a year ago, I received my first paying customer for a painting. I have always loved painting, but have never painted for money. So last summer a friend of my sister in laws heard that I painted and she got a hold of me and asked me if I could paint for her. She gave me a small card that had a picture on it, that read, "New Birth," and she explained the colors she wanted in it. I honestly thought it would just take a few months, but as time passed quickly I finally finished it this summer. I guess it takes a lot more time when you have a baby that needs you at anytime.

This was the process that I had to go throught to get the end product.

The lady who bought it, put this picture on her main wall because it is very symbolic to her. Her family used to live in Hawaii and she remembered hiking up to a waterfall that looked very close to this picture. She had just had a baby and she loved the dove in the right hand corner symbolizing heaven because while she was in Hawaii one of her friends had lost a child. There was great meaning behind the whole picture and the feelings that it brought out. She said that it resembled the Hawaiian people so well, along with the love and the peace which is felt in Hawaii.

The above picture portrays the actual colors, yet in the picture beneath the flash went off and left a glare.

I will admit that I was kind of nervous to give it to her. I had put in so many hours just trying to get it perfect. I was happy with the end product and I was so happy that she was overly excited and grateful for the way it turned out. She kept on saying "I love it, I love it. " She said it was perfect and better then she ever imagined it to be. For the last 5 years she has felt that there was always something missing in their dinning room area (the room attached to their front room). She said that she has envisioned it for so long and she just kept on going off on how much she liked it. I was so happy she liked it so much, that made me feel good and worth the time and effort I put into it.
